Telegram's Android Makeover: Embracing Liquid Glass, But Is It a Hit or Miss?
Telegram is shaking things up with a bold new design for Android users! After teasing the concept, they've fully embraced the Liquid Glass aesthetic, rolling out a major UI overhaul. But will this redesign be a hit or miss with the Telegram community?
The latest update, Telegram v12.4.0 for Android, introduces a plethora of Liquid Glass-inspired design elements. This follows the October/November 2025 update, which offered a glimpse of this new style. The app now boasts a four-tab bottom bar reminiscent of iOS, along with transparent elements that shine in light mode. It's an undeniable nod to Apple's design language, but with a unique twist.
The bottom bar, featuring tabs for Chats, Contacts, Settings, and Profile, remains visible even while scrolling. Meanwhile, the hamburger side menu has been replaced with a three-dot overflow menu, housing features like 'New Group'. This streamlined approach is a significant change, and it's already sparking debate.
Telegram's iOS version received a similar Liquid Glass makeover earlier in January, but the Android update has not been met with universal praise. Some users are expressing their dislike for the new interface. And this is where it gets controversial—is this redesign a step forward or a misstep?
What's your take on Telegram's Liquid Glass transformation? Do you love the fresh look, or do you prefer the old design? Share your thoughts in the comments and let's discuss!
